Welcome to another Flight Deals post! Today, I’m sharing how to search for multi-city flight tickets from Kuala Lumpur to various cities in Europe.
I did a quick search this morning and have already scheduled a post on my Facebook page—but I wanted to share it in more detail here on my blog. Many of my readers have asked me to write about this topic, but I kept forgetting. Luckily, I had some free time this morning at the office and finally checked out the latest multi-city flight options.
Before I share the flight deals, let’s quickly explain what a multi-city flight is.
What is Multi-City Flight?
A multi-city flight (sometimes called an “open-jaw” or “multi-stop” ticket) is a single airline ticket that lets you fly into one city and out of another—or visit several cities in one trip—without having to backtrack to your starting point each time.
For example:
- Fly from Kuala Lumpur (KUL) → Paris
- Travel by train or budget flight to Rome
- Fly home from Rome → Kuala Lumpur
Instead of buying separate one-way tickets, you book it all under one multi-city itinerary. This can often save money and makes complex trips easier to plan. It’s perfect if you want to explore multiple destinations in Europe on the same holiday!
Also, from my experience, open-jaw tickets are sometimes more likely to trigger error fares, which can lead to amazing deals if you catch them in time easier to plan. It’s perfect if you want to explore multiple destinations in Europe on the same holiday! Also many times we do research on it open jaw is will be more easier to become an error flight as well.
Kuala Lumpur – Europe Multi-City Flight
Today, I want to share some multi-city flight options I found with Etihad and Turkish Airlines.
I haven’t searched for multi-city or open-jaw tickets in quite a while, so I randomly compared a few options today. Here’s what I found:
- Etihad Airways: You can book directly on their official website. However, note that their basic fare now only includes 7kg cabin baggage.
- Turkish Airlines: Also bookable directly on their website, and they offer a generous 30kg checked baggage allowance, which is a significant advantage over Etihad.
These tickets I’m looking at are mostly for year-end travel. Honestly, I’m not too worried about booking later because there are still many cheap tickets available right now.
I’m particularly excited about including Iceland in my plans. Some flights are under RM3,000! As many traveler’s know, flying to Iceland often works out much cheaper with a multi-city or open-jaw ticket, especially when combining low-cost carriers.
How to Buy These Flight Ticket?
Here’s how I search and book multi-city flights:
If everything looks good—book it!
Start with Google Flights or Skyscanner. Check your dates first.
Play around with different cities and routes in the multi-city or open-jaw search option.
Once you find a good deal, click through to the airline’s official website to confirm the price and details.
Bonus Tip: Not Just for Europe!
Multi-city or open-jaw tickets aren’t just for Europe—you can use the same trick for trips to America, or even combine continents.
For example, I recently found a route:
- KUL → Milan (MXP)
- Los Angeles (LAX) → Singapore (SIN)
This was only RM2,844 return on Etihad! Normally, KUL → LAX return can cost over RM3,000. So with an open-jaw ticket, you can travel to more places and save money.
Now do you see the difference?
