It’s been 8 years since my last solo trip, and I finally had the chance to return to my favourite city in the world—London. I’ve mentioned before how much I love this place: the people, the food, the culture… my first experience here was magical. This time, things felt quite different, but I still enjoyed it. I’m grateful nothing bad happened—at least I’m safe and alive, and that’s what counts.

London Has Changed Since My Last Visit
The London I remembered had clean streets, a calm atmosphere, and beautiful surroundings. This time, however, it felt a bit chaotic. I saw trash in the streets, noticed someone urinating in public, and the trains were old with unpleasant smells. I even saw people skipping the fare by jumping into the station, and pickpockets seemed more common.
But don’t get me wrong—London still feels safe overall. You just need to be extra careful with your belongings (especially your phone). The main reason for this trip was to meet my best friend—it was our first time meeting in person, and I even brought her a very special (and expensive) gift. She’s such a good friend, and it meant a lot to share this experience with her.

This is the gift that I buy for her. “You are my Sunshine!”
Day 1 & 2: Exploring Local Food on My Solo Trip to London
We met pretty late on the first day, and I was super hungry after walking all day—but I had to wait for dinner, haha! Honestly, I missed Chinese food more than I expected—I’m not really into Western food. So, I ended up buying ingredients and cooking at my Airbnb. It felt much better, even if I had to eat alone and couldn’t always finish the portions! My bestie could only visit me for half a day, but luckily, I got to meet some other friends the next day too.

Day 3 & 4: Meeting a Stranger Who Became a Friend
I made a new friend—someone I hadn’t even met or spoken to before. We were in the same group chat, and I messaged, “Hey, I’m in London for a few days. Anyone around?” He replied, and we planned to hang out. And yes, we actually made it happen!
He brought me to one of my dream spots in London—somewhere I really wanted to visit—and I was so grateful. During our walk, he shared a lot of stories. He loves talking, while I’m quieter (especially since my English isn’t the best, and his Cantonese isn’t great—he’s from the US). But I was surprised when he told me he’d seen my blog and followed my tips about cheap flights! That moment felt really special.
The “Cloud”
Ta da and here is the places I want to visit to see the little cloud that is supper cute! I love ferris wheel and ice cream but I also in love with the cloud so much just can’t believe I finally here with him.

Dinner and finally is my favourite food
when we walk into the China Town and we decide to get the dinner here for the night and he keep ask me to pick one but he love dim sum so much so I just pick this one (like super random) he make the order for us and especially the “Fries Rice from Malaysia” that he told me haha.. but this price in London is expensive so much and thank you that he being gentle for paid (I mean I can AA but he keep say no no no) Such a nice brother:) he is just 27 how can I use the younger person money?
More photos and he share a lot of the story with me on the road that night it was the amazing!
We both love London, and he even talked about staying as a digital nomad. That night, meeting Josh was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. To be honest During my solo trip to London, I didn’t expect to meet someone like Josh.

Day 5 & 6: Exploring New Places and More Friends Along the Way
Time flew by, but I kept exploring places I hadn’t been before. One very special moment was meeting my grandma—we spent some time together, and she showed me a bakery I absolutely fell in love with. I still miss the soup and cake and I also visit the Borough Market for the first time!
The shop was called GAIL’s, and I even went back for breakfast the next few days. The weather was nice… until it started raining and turned cold.

Day 7 & 8: Museums and Rainy Days
London weather turned colder and wetter. No one really uses umbrellas—and I forgot to bring one too! Despite the rain, I still headed to a museum with a friend. In the morning, we visited a garden and saw some cute animals, and later, we stopped by some Harry Potter spots!
By the time we reached the museum, it was pouring—seems like everyone had the same idea, because it was packed. I was still hoping for a sunny day so I could visit Notting Hill.

Day 9 & 10: Notting Hill – The Final Stop of My Solo London Adventure
And just like that, it was my last day. I didn’t want it to end, but I was happy I finally made it to my dream destination—Notting Hill. The weather cleared up just in time. The colorful buildings, the markets, the shops—everything was just as I imagined. My Airbnb even looked like one of the fancy houses nearby!
I bought gifts for my family and had Korean BBQ for breakfast with a new friend. What a way to wrap up the trip.

Last Day Breakfast
Wow that looks too many for me but we have 3 people so still not bad haha.. We are the first customer get inside actually they haven’t open the shop yet lol but the worker so nice let us in and wait.
“I went to London alone, but I left with memories that will always have company.”

The End and I feel like is time to do more things to make yourself happy because you deserve it
