Welcome back to another post in my gaming series. Today, I want to talk about one of my favourite franchises, Resident Evil, and the newly announced Resident Evil Veronica Remake.
Why I Love Survival Horror Games
I have always enjoyed survival horror games. They combine fear with storytelling in a unique way. For me, it is not only about fighting monsters. It is also about the journey and the atmosphere.
These games often place you in dangerous situations. You must escape, survive, and solve mysteries along the way.

More Than Just Horror
What makes these games special is the mix of horror and adventure. You are not just scared—you are also exploring a story.
Every location feels meaningful. Every character adds something to the experience. Choices and actions often create tension and impact how you feel throughout the game.
Why I’m Excited for Resident Evil Veronica Remake
That is why I am excited about Resident Evil Veronica Remake.
It brings back a classic survival horror story. At the same time, it gives new players a chance to experience it in a modern way.
I will share more thoughts about the game in this post and why it matters to fans like me.
Resident Evil Veronica will be released in 2027 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
A Long-Awaited Remake Finally Announced
As a longtime Resident Evil fan, I never expected one of my most wanted remakes to actually become reality. Yet here we are—Resident Evil Veronica Remake has officially been announced, and honestly, it is one of the biggest surprises for me this year.
Why Code: Veronica Always Felt Overlooked
While many fans were speculating about a Resident Evil 5 remake, I always felt that Code: Veronica deserved another chance first.
It is one of the most important stories in the Resident Evil timeline. However, it often feels forgotten compared to Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4.
A Unique Entry in the Series
I still remember watching gameplay videos and reading discussions about Code: Veronica years ago.
Unlike the more famous entries in the series, this game had a very unique atmosphere. It blended gothic horror, creepy family drama, and classic survival horror elements.
It was not perfect, but it was definitely memorable.
The Story of Claire Redfield
For those unfamiliar with the original game, Resident Evil Code: Veronica follows Claire Redfield as she continues her search for her brother Chris after the events of Resident Evil 2.
Her journey leads her to Rockfort Island. Things quickly spiral into another nightmare involving Umbrella, mutants, and one of the strangest families in Resident Evil history.
Why This Remake Matters
One reason I believe this remake matters is because many newer fans have never experienced the original game.
The controls, camera system, and gameplay design can feel dated today. Because of this, an important chapter of Resident Evil history has remained inaccessible to many players.
A Chance for a New Generation
The remake gives Capcom an opportunity to introduce this story to a completely new generation.
If they approach it with the same care as the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 remakes, Veronica could finally get the recognition it deserves.
What I’m Most Excited About
Personally, I am most excited to see Rockfort Island recreated using the RE Engine.
The dark prison environments, military facilities, and gothic architecture could look incredible with modern visuals.
I am also curious to see how Capcom will redesign some of the more unusual characters from the original game.
My Hopes for Claire’s Story
At the same time, I hope they expand Claire’s role even further.
She has always been one of my favourite Resident Evil characters. Veronica is also one of her most important adventures.
A stronger focus on her character development could make the story even more impactful than before.

Final Thoughts and Questions
Of course, there are still many questions.
How closely will the remake follow the original game? Will certain story elements change? What improvements will be made to the gameplay?
For now, we can only speculate.
What I do know is this: Resident Evil Veronica Remake is no longer just a fan wish. It is finally happening.
And after all these years, that is something worth celebrating.
Have you played the original Code: Veronica? Or will the remake be your first experience with this story? I would love to hear your thoughts.
